Another Sturgis......

....draws to a close. I started this rally Saturday the 5th with a trip to Sturgis. I rode out with several good friends and stopped first at the Sawtooth Saloon in Piedmont. Then it was off to Sturgis; we went down town to several places, did some shopping and had a few drinks. We then headed out of town to the Full Throttle Saloon, lots of people, lots of bikes, the rally had arrived! Work, school, and had my babies Monday and Tuesday but took Wednesday off for the Hulett Ham n' Jam or "No panties Wednesday" as it's also known, I left my panties at home just for the occasion! Hulett was much the same as in years past, too many people in way too little space but the company was great and the ride was awesome. I left Rapid that morning with well over 100 people and the moment gave me goose-bumps; I have listened to lots of Harley's but the sound of so many bikes was simply incredible! We took the interstate to Sundance and made pretty good time, Harley's new 6 speed tranny runs quite well between 85 and 90. We got into Hulett a little after 8am, rode in and found parking right away; next on the agenda was breakfast, and what's for breakfast? Beer of course! I had a couple and decided that beer was going down way too easy for it being before 9 in the morning so I switched to water for the rest of our time there. We left Hulett for this kinda private party in Sundance and got there about 12:30. I met many new people, and it was a great time; if any of the responsible parties happen upon my little blog, Thank you I really appreciate it. We stayed in Sundance for a couple hours then took hwy 85 into Lead. I had been down this road from RC to Lead when we went snowmobiling but never between Sundance and Lead, what a beautiful ride! We picked up 385 in Lead, stopped to see Bubba, Sully, and Jill at the Sugar Shack, then it was off towards home. I came home and sweet talked my brother into a ride; we went to Keystone to see a friend of mine that was cocktailing at the Red Garter for the week. She was well and it was nice to see her; she even took a little break to sit and visit a while. We took in Keystone for a couple hours and after putting 315 miles on my bike it was time for bed in RC. Work and School Thursday and Friday, the kids came home Friday but made plans for a sleep-over at Granny's while I was at work. This ended up well, it was a nice night for them to sleep on her deck and a nice night for me to get back to Sturgis. I hooked up with some great friends and off we went again. Downtown to all the must be places then out of town to some more. I had heard, as I'm sure most others have, about the place they wanted to build out by Bear Butte. What I didn't know until Wednesday was that the place was OPEN! I heard it was cool but having never been there, it was kind of a gamble to leave Sturgis in the dark having no real idea where we were going or what we might find when or if we got there. The gamble paid off, we found it and were very pleased with what we found. I see us spending many days and nights at this establishment in years to come. I got up Saturday feeling quite sore in my neck and shoulders which only grew worse as the day went on, my mom thinks too much time on my motorcycle. Anyway, the rest of the weekend has been pretty low key; laundry and house work. Today my sister had a birthday party for her little Mary Ellen, it was nice to see all of my family together, good stuff. It's hard to believe she is a year old already, wow it's crazy how much can change in a year huh?!?! Some good, some bad, and some we just don't know yet. Oh I could go on with this subject but for all the good it's done me in the past, I think I'll just leave it be. Thanks to all of those who make my world a better place, you seem to grow in number every day; I truly enjoy your company and all you do. For those who continue to make my world worse, remember karma, it'll get ya and you'll deserve every bit!
