It's been too long
Sorry to leave ya'll hangin'
Last weekend I took a little motorcycle trip, earlier in the summer my little brother commented that he wanted to go to Gillette for a little Case del Rey. I had some time, a little money in my pocket, and a new Harley-Davidson begging for miles, so I brought up the idea for a ride. He agreed so we left for Gillette a little after noon. We took the "southern route" through Hill City, Custer, Newcastle and Wright Wy. We got to Gillette late enough to miss the supper rush, walked in, sat down right away, and began the chips and salsa! Fantastic!!!! The add was that John, who used to manage Casa in RC is now the proud new owner of CdR in Gillette!! He sat with us, talked about stuff both good and bad, and invited us back anytime. Off to the rest of the night life in Gillette. We had been to the Harley store and got suggestions for where to go; we went to several but bed outweighed drinks and ???. We slept in and took the "northern route" home; Devil's Tower, Hulett, Belle, Spearfish Canyon, 385 to the Sugar Shack, and home. Great ride, plenty cool but with leathers and gloves it was comfortable and we avoided rain against odds and weather predictions, almost 500 miles later the trip was a huge success! Great time, great company. I could ask for more but coming from so much, it may seem greedy. Self portrait time :-)> there you go!!!
I ended up getting to spend all week with my kids. They started school Tuesday, I took the day off because that's what good parents do! I offered to walk Ky up to the school on her first day to which she said "I don't think so" I sat in the van until she went inside, much more scary for me than her. C went back to VV this year for 2nd grade with the teacher who was instrumental to Ky moving ahead a grade, I couldn't be happier that he's in her class and she agrees. Boo went back to Ms. Deb's this year and is quite pleased with her new room and the new bathroom with the "little toilet and the sink that requires no stool to wash my hands!" "There's a mirror too!!"
This weekend (Saturday) kept me busy. C had pictures at 10, a game at 10:30, Ky played at 12, Boo had the first game of his career at 2, I had a company picnic after that and Ky played again at 5. We got everywhere on time and hardly noticed the complete absence of their mother, I'm sure she was real busy with her new life, fitting for her. Oh well, the memories are good even without her in them. Keep smilin' and do the best you can, odds are it's better than anyone else could do!! I love bein' me, the best part is that I get to wake up again tomorrow and be me all over again!
I have had several new experiences since my last post, single parenting will still come as un-recommended from me but when that's the only choice, make the best of it!! For my old friends, thanks for all you've done, I appreciate it; for my new (old) friends, I treasure you more than you'll ever know, and for my new (new) friends, thanks I had a great time and look forward to the next go-round!!
